Hello everyone,I have a motherboard Asus P5S800-VM (NEC OEM)and I'd tried to update a bios to a latest version but no luck. I used Asus update utility and it says "The model of the BIOS image doesn't match the BIOS ROM currently present.Press EXIT button to close.

It seems that the bios somehow locked,I checked in the bios there is no optin to enable or disable bios update.

The latest bios image is this: S8VM1023.ROM

Please if anyone can help me out with that problem.

Why do you feel the need to update the BIOS? Are you having problems that the BIOS upgrade will solve?

I need to update to a last versin because of the CPU.

This version what I have doesn't support the CPU 3.6ghz only below 3.0ghz.

Because it is a OEM (NEC) I don't think that the Asus update utility is going to work. In fact unless you can find a BIOS update on the NEC site I do not think you are going to be able to update the BIOS.

Have a look here NEC, there might be something.

You didn't mention the model of your NEC machine, is it Versa/Nova/PowerMate?

PC manufacturers usually have proprietary Bios for their motherboards, click here to download the appropriate one if one's there.

Under Search=>Select Download from the Category drop down menu=>Type Bios in the Keyword box=>Press Start Search=>Pick the correct Bios, good luck.
