Asus Mobo A7V8X-X New Hardware message

  Rich 08:49 21 Oct 03

I have installed two of these MB and both with slave hard drives. Both computer work well and both Harddrives are detected and work. However after Windows startup I get a message that new hardware has been detected and installed and a reboot is required to make them work. Removing slave cures the problem. This is just a annoyance but would like a cure if anyone can suggest one. One of the computers has current Bios.

Just realised what the problem is. I am using HD's from a FAT32 computer to transfer data from my old comps to the new XP ones. The message will no doubt disappear when I have finished transferring files and repartition to NTFS. I am sure this must be the problem.
