ASUS laptop - wireless connect problem

Hi just been repairing said machine and it has (and had before) a problem with wireless. Windows Zero Config is set to Auto, but stays 'stopped' after booting up. Seems there is 3rd party (ie ASUS) manager somewhere which inhibits WZC, yet doesn't work itself. For the life of me can't find it to disable it. Any ideas please? Filling the gaps, when I go to View Networks, Change Settings, there is no Wireless Network tab where I could click 'use windows to etc etc.

I hope this will help you.

Go into MSCONFIG and, in the Startup tab, see if you can find and disable the Asus wireless software, so that it doesn't launch when the PC boots. The WZC service should then run automatically and let you use Windows to manage the wireless networking.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try them next time I'm there.

check in control panel under network connections, see if it connects when you double click on the network used
