HI, I have an ASUS A7N8X deluxe MB based system, I have never updated the bios, the system is 7 years old and running ok, should I upgrade? or "if it don't itch don't scratch it" advice please. Win 7, 2 gig ram, twin HDD's dual boot

If its running OK then leave it, you do not mention what BIOS you are using now so it is also difficult to now if an update will be useful.

A BIOS update is a last resort fix for major problem.

An incorrect flash or error during the flash can leave your motherboard as a useless pile of junk :0(

My advice is leave well alone.

Good advice.

However, I have an M2N4 SLI and upgraded, on the advice of Asus, a few years ago.

I found it quite traumatic (in fact I posted here about it!) but need not have worried.

It was quite straightforward, and Asus did have a foolproof "go-back" system at the time.

Have a look at the Asus support site, and in the Asus forums.
