ASUS A8N-E, Athlon 64 and Thermaltake 480W PSU

Hello all,

I'm building a PC at the moment and have the above components. The problem is...the PSU is the old 20 pin connection, whereas the motherboard is 24 pin. I know you can get a 24 pin adaptor and I believe it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I just wanted to open this up to the forum for any advice/experience in this area. It's my first build, so I don't want to take any chances.

I had the same problem and found that if you connect the PSU omitting the last 4 pegs, it works fine. I tried to download the manual to check what it says, but the site seems to be causing problems. However, best to check with ASUS first if there's nothing in your manual. click here

Thanks for the reply...while I was looking through box I seen a 24 pin adaptor. So I presume it can be used on a 24 pin Asus Motherboard. I will double check though.
