Asus A7V8X-X motherboard and memory upgrade help

  Giggle n' Bits 22:49 01 Mar 05

this mother board has 3 DIMM Slots & I have 2 full with 256MB DDR DIMS in each but can I add another 256MB DDR to make it to 768MB ?

So this would mean I have 3 slots all having x3 DDR 256 MB in each.

PC2700 to maximum four banks, just checked my mobo manual (i also have A7V8X-X)

hang on a minute, the manual says it can support 4 banka, yet theres only 3 banks.....

this is now confusing me.

I only want to know if I can put in 3 Dimms of 256MB PC2700 333MHz I already have 2 with 1 in each.

Double sided and motherboard also saying 4 banks when there are 3 I am lost.

DDR is double sided, Double Data Rate

so the answer is still yes

as for the 3/4 banks things, nothing to worry about

I never have understood memory but I do understand DDR = Double Data which I now understand is Double Sided.

Ta !

basically, DDR means that data is transfered both ways, full duplex, so your memeory is twice as fast
