Evening,

Does anyone have any idea what this means, why it might be happening and if there is any way to fix it? It occurs when I try and load Ashampoo from the CD in April 2009 PC Advisor.

"This program can only be installed on versions of windows designed for the following processor architectures: x86"

Thanks for your help

Refers to the Intel x86 family of CPU chips, which includes the Core, Pentium and preceding models such as the 486 and 386. x86-based computers, including machines with x86-compatible CPUs from AMD and others, make up the world's largest hardware platform.

You have 64 bit OS. click here

I personally think 'optimising' programs are a waste of time.

Well I am running a Quad COre 6600 and Asus P5Q Pro mother Board, P45 chipset, can I assume do you think that this is completely incompatible. It would seem daft for a program not to run because of the wrong chip set!

Yes 64 bit Home premium edition

COmputer suddenly went really slow when I downloaded loads of CODEC's so rather than deleting them all I wanted to see if anything would 'optimise' everything to see if I could get it running quicker - and it was free so might as well try and make use until I might realise it is not worth it and delete it anyway!

Won't work on it. No loss in my humble opinion.

Start running your antimalware programs as soon as you can.
