are XP updates saved?

I'm thinking about wiping my hard drive to clear up a lot of clutter (didn't do a clean install on upgrade, blah blah) but I'm wondering about all those WinXP automatic updates I've downloaded over the months -- not to mention the Norton Antivirus ones.

Are they saved anywhere on the hard drive? Or (sigh) do I have a massive download session ahead of me?

go for the clean install in NTFS and then yes do all the updates again

if you did not do a clean install and just an upgrade then your system will be a lot slower

Even so, it's so much faster than Win98 was, and it doesn't crash all the time.

Thanks for your help ...
