Are TFT displays any good for gaming?

Hi all, My old CRT monitor needs replacing and I was wondering if a TFT flat panel display would be a viable proposition. My main uses are internet browsing and online gaming (with some business use when I have to!!!). I have a 64Mb ATI Radeon graphics card but I'm sure that I read somewhere that TFT displays are no good for games.
Thanks in advance. ;-)

Flat panels are ok for games, but nowhere near as good as crt

If games are your scene, stick to the old technology.

Cheaper too, and no dead pixels!

If you want to play games on a tft monitor you should look for one with the lowest response rate possible. They reckon 25ms or under is best.
There are quite a few 16ms screens out at present.

Thanks guys, I think I'll get a bigger and better CRT then.
