appostraphy/£ sign

  Henryk 07:40 06 Aug 04

over the past few days I have noticed that in many e mails which I receive the (') has a letter y below it. This symbol is also replacing the £ sign. Can anyone explain. I am using Windows 98 2nd Ed Internet Explorer Version 6.0

Haven't heard of this one but it might be soemthing to do with the keyboard settings of the person sending you the e-mail, particularly as the two keys you refer to "£" and "'" ( or "@" ) are often swapped over, for example if you select "US Keyboard" in your windows settings.
