Application Error (WINMTGS.EXE)

  SABRE 11:28 29 Aug 03

On closedown in XP Home, keep getting the above message. Further text reads "the instruction at 0x77e7a67a referenced memory at 0x0032500c. The memory could not be written.
Anyone any idea if serious or how to correct please?

do a search for the file causing the error, when found right click on it and select properties, from here you may be able to identify which program or service its associated with and take it from there.

Do you mean WINMGMTS.EXE?

If so, this is related to the WMI service.

To confirm, right-click My Computer, choose Manage, then select Event Viewer. Look for any system faults that relate to WMI or winmgmts.exe or svchost.exe. Double-click the error message to get further information and an event ID code. If in doubt, post back with further details.
