Apache and setting up virtual drives

  beastieboy 20:47 12 Jun 03

I was running IIS but decided to go with Apache... anyway.. I am a Windows XP Pro machine and running Apache.

The files are in: C:\Apache\Apache\htdocs

I want to be able to create a site - this I know how to, but I wish to link to files on the D: E: etc. drives. How do I go about doing this?

Many thanks,

Janusz Jasinski

i have the same problem. i have the same setting, xp pro and apache, but the apache monitor doesn't have any services running and i don't even know how to get it to start.

the help file doesn't detail anything about this.

oh, when i do click here, only the iis screen came up, and nothing else which indicates that the apache server is running.

please help!!

Which port is Apache running on?Try here:

http :// localhost :8080

Obviously without the spaces

Check the config files in apache to see what port it's on, set it to 8080 if IIS was installed first
