I've just moved home and want to set up a wireless network for the first time.

I got the netgear router from AOL but haven't yet got an adapter, but I presume it's best to get a netgear one.
Just one question though...does the router have to be connected to one of the PC's on the network.
Where the phoneline comes into the house I don't want the PC.
I have two desktops and will be buying a laptop
One of the desktops is a DELL Dimension...will this have a built in wireless adapter?

You will only need to connect one of the PC's by wire untill you have configured the connection and wireless with encryption then you can go totally wireless if you wish.
I don't think any of the desktops will have built in wireless no the adapters don't have to be netgear.

I can't try it out yet because BT haven't sorted out a line yet.
If I get trouble I'll be back in touch
