Surface Pro (2017) vs Surface Pro 4
I tried to upgrade AOL8 to AOL9 and decided not to bother. After uninstalling AOL9 and re-installing AOL8 the program kept refusing to close down, switched off the modem but left the screen on with no interactivity. Windows then gave me a message:
WAOL caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 016f:bff886df.

Now not being a newcomer to windows I have tried everything that most experienced users would such as uninstalling all related files and folders, performing registry cleans and even re-installing AOL7 and then upgrading to AOL8 but still it won't close down without hanging.
The only way to solve the problem, other than re-installing windows, is by going on to AOL9 or reverting to AOL7. But if I install AOL9 there seems to be no way of accessing all my several hundred old sent and received email copies because AOL9 uses a new way of storing and accessing old personal filing cabinet files.
Naturally I have exhausted the limited and rather useless Live Help service on AOL who collectively do not seem to know much about there own programs outside of the very basic.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Not point in saying goodbye then.
However, for the rest of us, remember --
