When you go to control panel' add/remove do you still have AOL uninstaller in your list?

have you looked in control panel>add/remove programs?

Yes the uninstaller is still there rdave

Then click add/remove on the uninstaller and uninstall all(as you are not using AOL). This has to be done while off line. Suggest you go off line then reboot and run the uninstallers in control panel.

Personally afterwards I'd go to start, search, "all files and folders"...more advanced features...tick search system folders...tick search hidden files and folders....tick search sub folders and make sure local hard drive letter(usually c:) is correct.
In the "all or part of the file name" box put in aol. Click search tab and delete all found using right click button on mouse.
Some files won't delete until reboot. Reboot pc.
