AOL and Internet Explorer

My step daughter uses AOL to get online, and then minimises the AOL browser, before using Internet Explorer to browse the Internet. Lately she has been unable to connect to the web in this way, which has meant Norton Updates and Windows updates have had difficulty proceeding. They appear to think that the machine is offline. The OS is Windows XP Home.

I have used AOL in this way in the past and have not had this problem before. Any suggestions gratefully received.

AOL uses IE to communicate with the web, so even if you don't minimise AOl it will still go through IE. It may be that IE. is corrupted, and a repair or re-install of this program from Add/Remove programs will put things right again. Regards. j.

J,

Many thanks.

I will give it a go.
