AOL browser hijack?

I have Windows XP and AOL 9 Broadband gold. The problem I am having is that when im surfing I will have a window open eg click here that address will be in the place where you can enter the web address of the web site that you are wanting to visit, the next thing is that changes to another address and an advert appears.I have pop up control switched on it is not the messenger type of pop up that I get,I also have the free Mcafee firewall that you could download free with broadband.I have been on AOL's livehelp but they were no help.I also run Spybot search and destroy daily and also have Adaware SE but if these do find any adware the next time I go online the adverts appear again, has anyone else had this probem or knows how to fix it.
