AOL and Adobe Reader

A friend of mine cannor read pdf files that I send him, the text comes out as gobble-de-goop.

His PC runs windows 98 and he uses AOL as his dial-up ISP. Adobe reader 7.0 is installed to read the pdf files.
I know that other people can view the same pdf file when sent to them.

Any ideas? I've heard that the AOL software can throw a few strange things at you!

I don`t think version 7 is compatible with Windows 98. Has he ever successfully opened a pdf with version 7?

click here Windows 2000 onwards. If I remember rightly you need Acrobat Reader v5.1 - I don`t think v6 works either.

Thanks for all the help. It looks like he's trying to use the wrong version for his OS.
I'll direct him to the links you've supplied.
