Checked my mates PC last night with Belarc Advisor and it said the Mobo was either a VP- or a VB- followed by 4 or 5 digits, forgot to bring the report home so sorry no more info. TR

Hi TommyRed. If you can find the BIOS code, you can often identify the motherboard manufacturer from that. click here

The full code is VP3-586B-W877 and I did a google search which suggests it's a MS5184. does anyone concur? TR

What I want to do is put a 128Mb stick of my RAM in my friends PC to see if his new all-in-one printer/scanner/copier will install and run properly. My Mobo is MS6183 (Micro-Star). He only has 64Mb which is a minimum requirement for it to run. If this deoesn't work we reckon his CD-DOM drive is shot as its been spitting out the CD continuously. Despite using a CD-ROM cleaner, this hasn't resolved the problem much and the cleaner skipped a section so maybe the setup CD did the same and is why we're getting a script error. Anyone's thoughts.
