Anyone know about partitioning?

Hi, Ive tried to partition the hard drive with Partition Magic, but nothing happened it should have booted into DOS, but nothing happened.Just started normally, no change.

I would be obliged if you could tell me how to partition the HD as I dont want to make a mistake.

Do Ineed to format the HD? How can I put the OS on 1 HD and the rest of it one the other drive if you catch my drift?

Need answers please, much obliged.

What O/S are you using. If it's Win98SE, 2000 or XP you can just boot from the CD and follow the prompts and it will all be done for you. Use partition magic to make any changed to your drives AFTER you have installed the O/S.

Did you produce the floppies when you installed Partition Magic? If so boot up with them. You'll be in DOS then for sure.

What version of PM? - There was a fix available from Powerquest for PM7 when it failed to work with ME.

if you got it free from a mag, then it MAY not be the full version and do what you want.

Try ranish as pj123 suggests or fdisk, instructions here.

If I remember correctly, I believe that support for ME didn't arrive until version PM6.The problem may lie there.
