I have recently started a javascript course and I am two thirds of the way through it. Have started messing about a bit but have got stuck.
What I want to do is have a graphic that would be clicked on to produce a prompt box which would ask the uisers name. This would themn transfer to the same page under the banner.
howevewr the method I use only creates the users name on a seperate page. the code i use is

function getname()
{
myname = prompt("What is your name?","");
document.write(" font size 3>Welcome /font>");
document.write(" font size 3> /font>");
document.write(myname)
}

Any javascript experts know how I can get the users name on the same page, other than using a text box which i think looks a bit clumsy.

thanx for your time
