Anyone familiar with TMPGEnc?

I've downloaded the evaluation version of this program. When I try to encode a movie file (Avi etc.) to Mpeg2 it gives me a destination for the output file, when it's finished encoding there are two seperate files, one for video and one for sound. Is this normal?
Thanks to everyone who's helped me out this year, I've asked a lot of questions this year and answered few. Have a good Christmas and new year.
Steve.

The results (in MPEG2)are in two seperate files,1 vid/1 wav(audio)I often find the audio level is a tad quiet so I often re-render the wav(normalise)It is normal.
