Any Reliable Audio CD Ripping Software?

MusicMatch Jukebox (free version) rips a song or two from an audio cd but then slows down for no apparent reason and stops so i cannot rip the tracks in mp3 format. Is there any reliable software i can use for this? I tried one from the net (free) but only did 2 tracks and then said i needed to pay. Also, is there any program that can change from an mp3 to audio format? A cd i had and loved is scratched and cannot play in the car. I could make an audio cd from the mp3s in my pc. Forgive me if this is basic stuff.

There are loads of aps around to rip CDs, a lot of them are free, FreeRip click here and dbPoweramp Music Converter click here , for example.
