Any Reliable Audio CD Ripping Software?

MusicMatch Jukebox (free version) rips a song or two from an audio cd but then slows down for no apparent reason and stops so i cannot rip the tracks in mp3 format. Is there any reliable software i can use for this? I tried one from the net (free) but only did 2 tracks and then said i needed to pay. Also, is there any program that can change from an mp3 to audio format? A cd i had and loved is scratched and cannot play in the car. I could make an audio cd from the mp3s in my pc. Forgive me if this is basic stuff.

Windows media player lets you rip songs from cds and gives you choice of mp3 or wma

There are loads of aps around to rip CDs, a lot of them are free, FreeRip click here and dbPoweramp Music Converter click here , for example.
