spybot has picked this up :HKEY-USERS\DEFAULT\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\MEDIAPLAYER\PLAYER\SETTINGS\CLIENTID
could this be the source of the problem i am having with media player giving me fatal execption messages,if so how do i remove it,as spybot wont

go to it and delete the id - media player should then install a new one next time you use it. you could also run ad aware that seems pretty clever.

where would i find the ID ??

start - run - regedit then click through until you get to the id then double click on it and delete. normal dire warnings about mucking about with the registry apply.
