Any idea how to format 200GB harddisk?

I bought a 200GB harddisk but have no clue why i can't get 200GB capacity instead i get 130GB after formatting? Any idea how to get 200GB?

I think what Powerless is trying to say is that you new HDD is TOO BIG. Poor old Xp can't get it's head round sooooo much space (it just can't count that high), and so you need to break it up a bit, by partitioning it, into several smaller units. Say 4 at 50Gb.

It will not break into 4 X 50 gigs. What it needs as poowerless points to is sp1. This will see 200gig as one drive and if it is a slave disk management will let you leave it as 200 gig or partition it for you.

Someone told me that there is a limit on older motherboards, but if you install an updated BIOS, Windows will recognise the full capacity of your hard drive. Any PC newer than around 1 years probably has a BIOS that supports large hard drives
