Any comments on this?

One room in my house which is not used a lot, contains a PC which is also very seldom used. I switched it on today and found that if I pressed the button for DVD the drive, the drive opened, then half closed.

I assumed that because the room was unheated, this was a possible reason. I left the heater on in that room for half an hour or so. Then I found that if I opened the drive and held it open while I pressed the button again it started to work properly again.

The strange thing is that another machine in the same room refused point blank to open its drive until the room was a bit warmer!

Everything sems o.k. now, so should I put it down to temperature [lack of it] or can anyone suggest another cause?

Sounds like either a) both drives have been closed incorrectly and the heat of the room was just a co-incidence (sorry about spelling) or b) you have 2 "dodgy" drives
