When I scan with Pest Patrol it shows the pest ANTIVIRUSGOLD. If I delete or quarantine it it is back when I reboot.
The entry it shows is in the registry as
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\ext\stats\{72267f6a-a6f9-11d0-bc94-00c04fb67863}

Adaware, Spyware Doctor, AVG (pro) or Microsoft Antispyware do not detect this pest.

Is this harmful, should it be removed and if so how?

Any ideas appreciated

Hi Rein

I have the same problem and having trouble sorting out. the trojan only appears in one account (my admin account) pestpatrol doesn't find it in any other. Anyone any ideas? it would be much appreciated. I use pestpatrol, spybot, adaware, counter spy, AVG, spywareblaster, but only pestpatrol picks it up

Try reporting it to Pest Patrol support as a possible false positive.

Thanks for your post Keith, I have already sent a log, let's just hope it is as you say a false positive.

Hi thanks to all for your response, all seems well now, I think it may have been a false positive because the latest update doesn't find it now so I suspect they may have corrected it.
