Anti virus worked now what

  sattman 23:09 01 Nov 03

I have just had Norton AV detect 4 virus hits all together, most of the contaminated files that it innoculated are temp internet and I have deleted.

It also innoculated wmplayer.exe which is associated with media player.

Obviously Wmplayer will not work now.

Any one have any ideas for repair or do I have to down load the programme complete.

PS I had all the latest sec patches for media player. But it still allowed contamination.

System is running Windows ME

Either Norton will have quarantined the viruses or you can visit the click here website and check how to get rid of each virus by searching for its name.

But try running Norton again on a full scan after checking that the configuration settings are correct to deal with viruses found.

Thank you Stuarti

As I explained in my original request, Norton has detected a virus attack and innoculated 4 files.
3 of the files are trojan and were found by Norton to be located in temp internet folder. As with any temp.internet files these can safely be deleted.

The problem that I request help with is the other file that it has innoculated which is wmplayer.exe and this I believe is windows media player exe file.

Now that Norton has protected (innoculated) this file Media Player 9 will not run.

Must I down load the complete programme again or can I add the a clean wmplayer.exe file ?
