the problem is everyone will give you their opinion, all systems are different, most av's behave slightly differently on different pcs.
what problems are you having with avg?
if none stick with it, don't worry about all the honey pot comparison websites, they are all pretty much out the same stable, none will catch everything.
i see computers that are behaving under par and it's usually due to having more than 1 real time scanning program.
use common sense when surfing malware has to be installed.
most av's have a trial period.
but the question you ask will not get answers just opinions.
