Have done as you suggested but get a message saying "Physical memory not currently in use". Any ideas on that please. Meshuga.

ive advised on how to view unused RAM: start\programs\accessories\system tools\system monitor. from there Edit\add item\memory manager\unused physical memory.

Try RAMpage - it will display available memory in the system tray and will allow you to free it as necessary. click here
