Another use for a UPS

My garage door is electric. The mains Consumer Unit is in the garage. Recently the dishwasher blew and took down the mains. Then the kettle blew and took down the mains.

Both times I had to dig out the mortar concealing the manual release, restore the trip, and patch up the mortar.

The door company, Gliderol, wanted £500 for battery back-up.

So I ordered a UPS from Ebuyer, £31 delivered.

It does the job!

If you want one for the PC, it Emails you if the mains fails. How cool is that?

Graham--Possibly a silly question, but how can it email you, when your mains power fails, surely your system will be down as well!.

It Emails to your chosen address, possibly a laptop. Even to the protected PC, the mains will be on back-up!
