Annoying message

Now when I switch on my PC and it loads up, a message appears on the desktop which says:-
Error loading C:\Program Files-----/Wild Tangent/-----dll (I have shortened the full line). I click on the OK and it disappears - until the next switch on.
I find that Wild Tangent is a games site/company which I have never visited before. I searched my hard drive and find that Wild Tangent has appeared on it.
I deleted the program but the annoying message is still there. Have I been "violated" I run Zone Alarm and Solo as protection but there have been short periods when I was unprotected. Solo does not show any virus.
As the problem would seem to be embedded somewhere in the more complicated start up works of my PC any help would be much appreciated., thanks Blodgett

Try running Ad-aware click here and Spybot click here to remove the remnants of WildTangent.

If that doesn't work, Start, Run, type in

msconfig

and click OK. Look for the entry on the Startup tab and untick it.
