Analysing A Hard Drive.

Hi,
I have a my own company and i have a lot of my details on my computer about bank accounts, please can you tell me how to delete file FOR GOOD so that even after analysing my hard drive it will no be there.

The only guaranteed way to completely erase all traces of files is to physically destroy the hdd.There are progs available that claim to remove all traces,but they would really only prevent a novice from recovering the data.

Fully agree, but you could run these from a CDRW. I do with Quicken. I loaded the Program onto a CDRW, and when I need to input data I just stick the CDRW in the Drive and use like Hard Drive. no info on Hard Drive take it with me to a new comp if I want just have to then create a shortcut to the CD Program .EXE file.

PS if you used a cleaner on your drive it would as above only deter amateurs. But then who is going to look anyway.

Thank you, I have found one program which can overwrite the file up to 8 time please could you have a look and tell me what you think.
