Hello friends. I need to buy a pc for work which will be just ok with a celeron pc considering speed etc. Now I've seen another pc whose OS is AMD Sempron 3000+ and is same price. I know AMD but the version Sempron 3000+ I don't know. WHat kind of AMD version is Sempron 3000+? How does it compare with Intel celeron? Please advise. Thanx in advance.

Sempron is the replacement for the Duron I favour the sempron but other people would sai Intel so either would proberbly do

Either processor will be fine - celeron or the Semperon. Semperon is the AMD equivalent of celeron.

Check the other components in the machine too - that will be an important factor to consider.

Agree with the others, the Sempron is AMDs version of Intels Celeron. Either will do nicely, the Sempron is probably a bit cheaper subsequently a bit better value.

I don't think I've heard many good things about celerons, especially in the realm of gaming - Semprons are generally better value for money.

The Duron/Sempron CPUs have always been AMD's answer to the Celeron and have regularly fared better in reviews for both performance and keen prices.

The Sempron for me any day. I recently installed a Sempron 3000+ in a friend's PC as an upgrade and was very impressed with its performance, value for money.
