AMD processor speed

Gigabyte K7 GA-7ZXE motherboard, AMD Athlon 2000+ processor. Jumper set to 133. On start up, indication is that proc only running at 16+. Anything I can do to get it up to spec?

16+? Do you mean 1600? If so, that is probably about right for a 2000 AMD processor.

Diodorus has got it. An Athlon XP 2000+ is a performance rating. It has the performance similar to a Pentium 4 2000MHz CPU, but its actual clock speed should be around 1660MHz, so your CPU is behaving correctly.

The clock speed for the 2000 on my system is 1666 according to Aida 32.

I've an AMD 1800+ running at 1.6G, the multiplier being set at 12. Previously the multiplier was 11.5, giving a speed of 1.53G. There was no change in the CPU temp, which is 34C, rather low, I thought. Can I increase the multiplier even more? Is the temp the limiting factor in CPU speed?
