I have a old MSI 6340 M/b and the CPU in the board has the following ID on the Core.

A1200AMS3B
AXHA010GPAW
94264430165

I believe this to be a AMD Athlon 1.2GHz with a FSB of 200MHz.

Can anyone tell me what the name for this processor is & would it run in say a Asus A7V8X-X or other current sockect A Motherboard ?.

The MSI board was MS-6340 V.1

Hope to be able to reuse to build a secondhand kids pc with Win98Se.

I don't know the answer to your question but I have seen the info on the AMD site about identifying CPUs from the IDs printed on the chips, if you look on the AMD site you should be able to identify the chip. Then just check the MSI site and you'll have your answer.

confirmed the CPU to be damaged.
It was in a TINY branded PC where there was NO ! Thermal soloution past on the CPU Core, then HSF was pitted with soot.

Warning to all owners of TINY branded machines if you have a Duron/Athlon based pc and a crashing or VGA blackout its most likley lack of thermal soloution paste or inadiqute PSU & NEEDS ATTENETION !.

I have come accross this 3 times now on the models of 2 years + older.

If it was pitted with soot then there has been some paste there at sometime, it was probably just a poor compound.

If the processor still works put it on ebay cos Thunderbirds with a 200MHz FSB are rare as hens teeth now and i wouldnt be suprised if you got enough bids for it for you to buy an Athlon XP 1800+
