AMD Althon 64 - Build Problems

Hi,

I purchased some components to build a system from Overclockers.co.uk a few days ago and I’m having a few problems with the new build.

To give you some background I have purchased the following:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R Motherboard
TwinMOS 1GB (2x512MB) DDR PC3200
Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 9 200GB SATA Hard Drive

Components I already have include:
Netgear MA311 Wirelress Network Adapter
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Card
Geforce FX5600
Maxtor 160GB ATA133 Hard Drive
CD-RW Drive
DVD ROM Drive

Upon installing everything for the first time the system would not boot, and the MSI “D Bracket” stated I had a dead CPU. However I found that if I take out the sound blaster audigy card, the system boots fine.

Win XP SP1 installs fine, but when I start installing other applications like MS Office, Paint Shop, Photoshop etc, I start getting blue screens,

Some errors on these blue screens include:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: 0X000000D1 (0XF812F61F, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0XAA3E664B)

LCCFLTR,SYS – ADDRESS AA3E664B BASE AT AA3E5000

*****

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NOPAGED_AREA

STOP: 0X00000050 (0XDC5E5DC5, 0X00000001, 0X8050AB64, 0X00000000)

I have had a quick search on the internet, and some people state the drive problem could relate to my nvidia card, but I have eliminated this as I have tried a fresh install with a cheap and old S3 card. I have also tried removing one stick of RAM at a time, but the problems still persist.

Does anyone have any ideas at all?

I have had a very similar error but not with this processor, if you can't find the answer on microsoft kb or the only answer is "it's a driver problem" then the only option is ti try reinstalling windows (reformat first) which shouldn't be to bad as there isn't a lot else on it at the moment.

Sorry can't be more helpfull but I spent days trying to trace the scource of a similar error and got nowhere so I hope this might save you some time.

Start with the minimum. just graphics memory floppy and hard drive the after loading XP load the Motherboard drivers, and see how it goes on starting and shutting down. then load just one program at a time and test

When i rebuilt my older PC the only things that i installed were CPU GRAPHICS AND RAM one stick only
i did not put the OS in at this stage on boot up it loaded ok when no OS came up loaded WXP after changing bios to fist boot cd rom when that was installed ok started to load the rest of the soft ware.
In your caes i would start again also clear the cmos before starting refer to your MODO install book or just take the battery for 10mins or so.
