Am I killing my mice!?

I have had 2 optical mice die on me in as many days.
One was wired and the other used a wireless dongle.

I have unplugged and repluged them into USB ports quite alot between 2 computers recently. I rarely use the Safely Remove USB devices in the sytem tray as I thought this was more to do with protecting Windows rather than the USB devices themselves.

Is it likely that this has caused them to stop working?

you could try this click here

alternately use the Safely Remove USB devices or go back to a ps2 mouse.

The otical laser is still on so I know there's power there. Device manager says the devices are working correctly. I tried disabling & enabling them in Dev Manager but still not working?

click here download and run usbdeview.

click on the mouse to remove from the system, plug back in and windows will find and reinstall correctly

Thx Fruit Bat,

I did try Usbdeview but it didn't work so I guess they're knackered.

Gonna look for some new mice, and no Jimv7, I won't be going to Pets At Home LOL!
