Alternatives to Windows Media Player

  Totally-braindead 19:11 03 Jan 07

Tried Quicktime and don't like it, I am looking for something that will play virtually everything and is freeware. Anyone any suggestions for an alternative?
Theres lot of them out there I'd just like to shorten the list a bit. Tried Media Player Classic twice this afternoon but the downloads were corrupted for some reason.
Any others I can try?

Thank you all for that. I'll tick it as resolved. All appear to work nicely I'll just have to see which I like best.

The only thing I've found that will play everything is Media Player Classic.
It got updated today so it has probably been hit quite heavily.
