Allocate Space to C Drive

  shaneoneill 19:37 03 Aug 05

I have a 240gb hard drive which is divided in 2. The C drive is down to 200mb and I need to allocate more of the 240gb to this. The d drive has 190gb+ with around 85gb's free. How do I allocate some of this free room to the C drive?

Easiest to use Partition Magic - Amazon has it for about £30.

Or why not reinstall windows...

Hi Shane. You need a partition manager for this but it's not for a novice. If you're running XP then there is a PM of sorts, but I use Powerquest Partiton Manager which is pretty good.

Backup all your important stuff before you start fiddling.

Good luck

Since much of the space on C is presumably taken up with your work - media files and the like - why not simply move them over to the D drive?
