all media players crash system

Hi, I have a strange problem that I cant solve. No matter which media player I use, it will either chrash and freeze my system instantly, or may play for between 1 - 20 mins and then do this. I have fdisked and formatted the drive and re-installed everything but still happens. Have updated video drivers, sound drivers etc I have the following spec:

also run the direct x diagnostic utility, by going to start, run and type in dxdiag, carry out all tests.
