Alexa Toolbar

Spyaudit tells me that I have Alexa toolbar on my machine which Spybot and AdAware haven't picked up. As far as I know I haven't got this tool bar unless it is another name for the Google Toolbar

Its the Links folder.

or maybe not.

So, it looks as if I will be uninstalling Google Toolbar and looking for another popup stopper then

Google is not it.

Nothing to do with Google. That's why it has another name.

Sorry VoG, I misread the first paragraph of the link you posted.

I'll mark this thread as resolved but I still can't find the alleged Alexa Toolbar on my machine

Try scanning with the new Spybot 1.3 version which is being lauded today. It found 32 entries on a machine I thought clean.

A plugin to IE that is included in a windows update.

Right click on IE toolbar to see if there is alexa listed in the dropdown menu.( it comes up on toolbar as a small icon and is not obvious)

If it is there Ad-aware should have picked it up!
