Has anyone else seen these symptoms, I have seen 3 pcs like it in 2 days.on XP machines

1 Obvious spyware infections, various popups, slow, items listed in MSCONFIG .

2 Wont let you install Hijack This or Superantispyware, you get the desktop icons, but nothing when you double click

3 will let you install AVG8 and the scan pulls up between 15 & 20 generic trojans & downloaders

4 when these are fixed, the same popups still come up.

any ideas, is this a known problem, is there a download anywhere, or am I looking a reformats

Cheers

Are you working in Safe Mode?

Download this free program.

DrWeb CureIt

No updates are necessary and if you cannot download it get someone to put it on a pen drive and you can run it from there,

Thanks for that

Dr Web looks like a useful tool

Cleaned a treat

Turns out all pcs had downloaded "winantivirus 2008" had been partially removed by previous software

All better now

Cheers
