what happens if I copy dvd to svcd or vcd files and put them on a DVD+R disc? Will I be able to play that disc on a normal dvd player then?

I really get confused with all this stuff, any help would be appreciated.

Thnank You chris.

Provided the DVD player plays VCD / SVCDs, Yes.

Only if the dvd player is compatible.

Why go the long route from DVD to vcd and then dvd+r ?

  TeamChris1981 20:05 02 Aug 07

any idea how I can find out if my DVD player is compatible

  skidzy 20:11 02 Aug 07

Whats the model number and make of the dvd player Chris ?

  TeamChris1981 20:18 02 Aug 07

I think the model number is: 3416339 and the make is: pacific

The only over number I can find after that on the dvd player after that is: 5060061912839

Those numbers mean nothing Chris, probably serial numbers not model numbers.
Is this one like yours click here

What exactly are you trying to do ?

If you are trying to copy a dvd and its not copy protected, use Nero or another burning package.
What package do you have ?
Then just copy it to your dvd+/- disc.

Ive got family movies which are on the PC, but I would like to play them on a dvd player. So thats why I got confused, I know you can get DVD file converters, but the software I have only allows me to convert to VCD or SVCD.
I also have nero on the computer as well.
The DVD player in the you showed me is very similar but the one shown maybe a little bit updated

I dont use Nero but many others do here at PCA and they maybe be able to advise accordingly.

I would imagine if you look for a setting within Nero.....create dvd and follow the instructions.

I would have thought Nero would do the converting and encoding.

I use Sonic and Vista's own burning program.

Have you tried Nero yet ?

What is the format of the movies ?

This convertor may help if all else fails click here
