AGP Dilemma

  Allan2690 14:38 22 Mar 06

Hi Guys. Is there anybody out there can tell me if I can put a AGP 8x card into my AGP 4x motherboard without doing damage? I believe there is a voltage difference somewhere along the line. Thanks in advance.
The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8SIMLH-P.

1 x AGP slot (4x/2x-AGP 2.0 compliant)

Putting in a 8X card may do damage but in any event it would only run at 4X as this is all your mobo supports.

If it fits, it will work OK Allan. They are designed to be "backwards compatible".
