Advice on upgrading to allow use of Ipod

  Andy Ush 16:30 15 Dec 03

I am looking to buy my son an Ipod for xmas but have noted that the minimum requirement is USB2 or Firewire and XP. I currently have a PIII 550hz Mesh computer which only has normal USB ports and W98 SE.

Is it possible to add a firewire expansion card?

Or would there be a better way of upgrading without buying a new copmputer.

Thanx in advance

click here it says it is supported bt W98SE.

The iPod is an excellent bit of kit but make sure you download iTunes for PC and dump the less than brilliant Musicmatch.

Yes, it is easy to get a USB2 PCI card or a firewire one, or even a card with both. All the major online component shops have them; so to do PCW and other high street / local PC shops.
