Advice on Scart Splitter

I currently have an analogue TV. I have a DVD recorder with integrated Freeview connected to it, with a Freeview box connected to the DVD recorder (as you can't watch a second channel on Freeview whilst it is recording one!). Have no problems with quality of sound or picture with either of these, even when both in use.

However, I am about to get a Tiscali+ digital recorder and Tiscali tell me that I can record from my DVD recorder's own Freeview whilst watching/recording from the Tiscali digital recorder, but that I have to use a Splitter in place of Scart Cable and then connect the Scart cable and DVD Recorder on Splitter and other end of splitter will go to 1st Scart.

Can anyone advise what kind of Splitter would be best to avoid poor signal from one or other of the devices/recorders (eg switched, non switched etc).
