I use the website CNET (Download.com) to try different software, but as with most people some software is not what you thought it was and you uninstall it, but i know this leaves a folder in your program files with clickible icons, is it safe to remove these folders from your program files

thanks

if you have uninstalled the program yes
but obviously take care to delete the correct folder associated with that program

it may also be worth grabbing a copy of Ccleaner which will delete the registry entries as well click here

after you uninstall using the softwares uninstaller or add/remove programes in windows any folders left behind can be deleted.

the ones you talk about, do you mean in Programs on the Desktop or in Windows Explorer. As those on the Desktop are more often just shortcut's to the programs
