Advice on mini computers, netbooks small size systems

I use Mac for most of my work but I need a Windows based system as well to run certain programmes that are not made in Mac format. I have had a succession of HP/Compaq notebooks over the years but they start to breakdown after about 18 months. I replaced the hard disk on the present one but it has lost the scrolling function on the touch pad and the ethernet card has broken down.

I want to have a system that is sturdy and small as there is very little room in my office and I would prefer to avoid a full sized tower system - they are all wires and dust. I only need 320Gb HD, 2-8 Gb RAM, MS Office 10, Window 7 and room for a few small programmes such as Smartdraw.

I was attracted by the mini computers but do not know whether they are targeted for home entertainment rather than simple business use. Acer do a small tower system but of course they bring the permanent presence of a large screen and keyboard too. I am also considering the netbook market but they seem a little lacking in RAM (Levonon appear to have a good system reviewed in PC Advisor.

Any advice would be gratefully received
