Advice on Firefox.

Am considering using Firefox instead of IE. Would welcome any advice on installing and use of same. Is it a straightforward installation without having to do anything with IE and is it easy to return to IE if I wished. PC is on XP home sp2. Many thanks.

Very straightforward to install. You can import your favourites from IE. Uninstall through Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel.

Pimps and good to use. Also easy to switch between the two.

Yes it is perfectly straightforward. Keep an eye on the questions during the installation and do NOT elect to make Firefox your default browser. You can always do this later on if you decide that you prefer it to IE.

Many thanks Methedrine-wotbus-VoG-Santos7 for your advice. Looks promising. Will give it a try in the near future. Having to go off line now but will respond tomorrow to any further advice. Meshuga.

Excellent browser, the only downside is that sometimes certain extensions can corrupt the profile which means setting another one up, once you are aware of that its not a problem. Just make sure you back up you bookmarks regularly.

Use them together with no problem until you decide which you like best.

To speed up Firefox without having to use about:config, go to:

and download Finetune Firefox (free utility).

Setting it up is quick and self-explanatory.

Or even better just usr the Fasterfox extension.
